How is voice and in-browser (WebRTC) calling billed?

Account & servicesUpdated 2026-07-28

Voice and WebRTC calling on Arino One is billed at a flat $0.009 per minute — the same rate for browser-to-browser WebRTC calls and for calls that reach the public telephone network (PSTN). Carrier charges for number rental and call termination are passed through separately at the connected Infobip account's rates, which vary by country and number type.

The $0.009/minute voice/WebRTC rate is available only while the instance stays on an active $50/month Arino Core connection. If you stop paying the monthly connection fee or disconnect from Arino Core, this rate no longer applies and you are responsible for sourcing your own voice/TURN provider.

What is billed

ItemCharge
In-browser WebRTC call$0.009 per minute
Voice / PSTN call minutes$0.009 per minute
Number rentalPass-through, at carrier cost
Call terminationPass-through, at carrier cost

A call answered in the console's in-browser dialler, or placed browser-to-browser from your website or a paired device, is billed at $0.009 per minute while the instance is connected. As soon as one leg of the call rides the telephone network, the same $0.009 per minute talk-time rate applies, plus the number rental and termination charges that the client pays directly to Infobip.

Connected time is measured from answer to hang-up and rounded up in line with standard telephony practice; ringing, voicemail-only attempts and failed connections are not charged.

Number rental and termination

Renting a phone number and terminating calls to and from it are charged separately from talk time, because every client owns their own Infobip account and pays Infobip directly for these — Arino never bills them. These costs vary by country and number type (local, toll-free, mobile), so a UK local number and a US toll-free number will carry different rental costs. They apply regardless of whether the instance is connected to Arino Core.

Voice/WebRTC and the $50/month connection fee

The $50/month is strict: it covers only instance connection and management, unlimited seats, unlimited live web chat, and the platform and GDPR features provisioned at setup. It does not cover message and conversation costs, extra channel activations, extra WhatsApp senders, custom development, Ping Me, or voice/WebRTC minutes. Turning on voice for an instance does not raise the $50/month fee; voice/WebRTC minutes are billed at $0.009 per minute on top of it, while PSTN number rental and termination remain pass-through costs.

How this differs by connection status

Connection statusWho bills voice usage
Connected ($50/month Arino Core connection)Arino bills WebRTC/voice minutes at $0.009/min; Infobip bills the client directly for PSTN number rental and termination
UnconnectedNo Arino billing for voice — the client sources their own voice/TURN provider, and Infobip (if used) bills the client directly for numbers and termination

Monitoring usage

Voice minutes appear in the console under Account → Usage alongside your other channels. Set a monthly spend threshold there so a long-running call queue or an unattended dialler doesn't turn into an invoice surprise.

Frequently asked

How much does an in-browser WebRTC call cost?

$0.009 per minute while the instance stays on an active $50/month Arino Core connection. If the instance is unconnected, this rate is not available and you must source your own voice/TURN provider.

How much does a voice/PSTN call cost?

$0.009 per minute while the instance stays on an active $50/month Arino Core connection. Calls that need a carrier number also incur number rental and termination costs, paid directly to Infobip by the client, which vary by country and number type.

Is voice calling covered by the $50/month?

The $50/month covers connection and management, unlimited seats and unlimited live web chat. Voice/WebRTC minutes are billed at $0.009 per minute on top of that.

Are number rental and termination included?

No. Number rental and call termination are pass-through charges set by the underlying carrier and billed separately from any talk time.

Does billing differ by connection status?

Connected instances see voice/WebRTC minutes at $0.009 on their Arino invoice. Unconnected instances have no Arino billing for voice at all — they have no access to the $0.009/minute rate and must source their own voice/TURN provider. PSTN number rental and termination are always paid directly to Infobip by the client, regardless of connection status.

Where is the full rate card?

See billing and plans for every charge across the platform, alongside voice and WebRTC.
