Apple Messages for Business

ChannelsDraft — not publishedUpdated 2026-08-05

Apple Messages for Business connects to Arino One as an on-request channel: you request activation under Settings → Channels on your instance and Arino coordinates the Infobip and Apple registration, or you complete the registration yourself on your own Infobip account and connect the credentials. Once live, Apple conversations land in the shared inbox alongside every other channel, and work the same way in automations and routing.

What it is

Customers on iPhone, iPad and Mac tap a Messages button to start a chat with your business, then talk to you in the app they already use for personal messaging. The conversation carries your brand name and logo, and supports rich elements such as list pickers, time pickers and Apple Pay.

Your side of it is ordinary: replies land in your Arino One inbox, are assigned and answered like any other channel, and are subject to the same routing, quick replies and automations.

Registration through a Messaging Service Provider

Apple does not let businesses connect directly. Messages for Business requires registering your business with Apple through an approved Messaging Service Provider — Infobip is the provider in this setup. Registration covers your business identity, brand assets, the entry points you want enabled and your response-time commitments, and Apple reviews it before the channel goes live.

Because this is an on-request channel, you can hand the process to Arino: request activation on the instance and Arino coordinates the Infobip and Apple side. If you prefer to own the process, register directly on your own Infobip account and connect the resulting channel.

Availability and entry points

Reach is limited to customers on Apple devices, which makes this a strong channel in markets and audiences with high iPhone share and irrelevant where Android dominates. Confirm the fit before investing in the registration work.

Conversations are always customer-initiated. The Messages button can appear in Apple Maps, Safari search results, Spotlight, Siri, your Apple business listing, and on your own website or app. There is no outbound equivalent — no broadcast, no cold message, no template push to an Apple ID. Getting volume on this channel is a matter of placing entry points where customers already look for you.

Activating it on your instance

  1. Confirm your audience skews to Apple devices and decide which entry points you want.
  2. Open Settings → Channels on your Arino One instance and request Apple Messages for Business activation.
  3. Arino coordinates the Infobip and Apple registration, submitting your business details and brand assets. Alternatively, register directly on your own Infobip account.
  4. Wait for Apple's review and approval.
  5. Once live, start a chat from one of your entry points and reply to confirm two-way routing into the shared inbox.

As with every channel, the underlying account is yours: each Arino One client uses their own Infobip account and pays Infobip directly. Arino manages the connection, not the account.

Because the customer always starts the conversation, the opt-in is inherent to the channel. Customers can delete or block the conversation at any time, and that is reflected on the contact record. Keep consent records per channel — an Apple conversation is not consent to SMS or WhatsApp marketing.

Billing

The channel connection and its ongoing management are covered by the flat $50/month Arino Core connection. Message volume is not: Apple Messages for Business traffic is billed on your own Infobip account at Infobip's rates for the channel. See billing and plans for how usage is charged.

Frequently asked

How do I connect Apple Messages for Business to Arino One?

It is an on-request channel. Request activation under Settings → Channels on your instance and Arino coordinates the Infobip and Apple registration for you, or complete the registration yourself on your own Infobip account and connect the credentials.

Can I start the conversation, or only the customer?

Only the customer. Every conversation is customer-initiated from an Apple entry point — there is no way to cold-message an Apple user. Once a chat is open, your agents reply from the shared inbox like any other channel.

What's the registration process?

Apple requires your business to be registered for Messages for Business through an approved Messaging Service Provider. Infobip is the provider here: you supply business details, brand assets and the entry points you want, Apple reviews the request, and the channel goes live once approved. The review timeline is Apple's, not Arino's.

Which entry points show the Messages button?

Apple Maps, Safari search results, Spotlight, Siri and your own website or app can surface a Messages button, along with your Apple business listing. Which ones you enable is part of the registration.
